Pregnancy and Baby Loss
Pregnancy and Baby Loss
Losing a pregnancy or baby is unimaginable. From the moment many women find out they are pregnant, they calculate their due dates, imagine the first day of kindergarten, picture them at their alma mater. They plan for a future. When that future goes away, grieving can be confusing. How do you grieve things that didn’t actually happen? How do you grieve a baby that you didn’t get to know?
Many women who lose pregnancies and babies wonder how to talk about their experience. They wonder how to interact with friends who might be having healthy pregnancies and babies. They worry about being a “downer” or bad luck in the friend group. AND, they feel really, really sad.
Together we can talk about your grief, develop coping strategies, explore ways to memorialize your baby that feel right for you, and begin to integrate your experience into your life narrative. This may feel like a very lonely time, but you don’t have to do it alone.
